New art museum

The Shenzhen Art Museum (new venue) in Longhua District is hosting eight exhibitions. One exhibition that should not be missed is “Shiota Chiharu: The Soul Trembles,” featuring several large installations woven with red yarn. The new art museum has 18 exhibition halls and other multifunctional areas.

Design, movie master

Renowned Chinese designer Han Jiaying is showcasing his past design works and experiments at an exhibition running through Dec. 17. Meanwhile, a new exhibition reviewing the life and career of Chinese movie master Cai Chusheng (1906-1968) is also being held until Dec. 14.

Paintings, architecture

Locals are having a rare opportunity to admire masterpieces created in the 1920s-1940s by Xu Beihong (1895-1953) at an exhibition running through Dec. 12. Meanwhile, renowned architect Ma Yansong is showcasing architectural models of iconic buildings designed by his MAD Architects at an exhibition running until Dec. 17.
