Chen Siqi Vankochensq@163.com AMIDST the rapid progress in artificial intelligence (AI), Piero Scaruffi, founder of the Silicon Valley Artificial Intelligence Research Institute, addressed concerns regarding the reliability of AI technology. “We are entering a transformative era, where computers are evolving under a new architecture that is not entirely precise,” he said. While acknowledging the potential for AI to revolutionize various fields, such as medical applications, he raised concerns about its trustworthiness. Highlighting the overwhelming volume of information on the internet, he suggested AI could exponentially increase this influx of data. “Even a telephone conversation could be done by AI, so trust is becoming very important,” he said. Regarding the need for AI to self-identify — a feature known as AI-generated content detector, he mentioned initiatives like OpenAI’s attempt to introduce such capabilities, which were taken down after only a few weeks. “At least it helps consumers be aware of AI-generated content and can make decisions on whether or not to trust it.” |
