Bird conservation

POYANG Lake, China’s largest freshwater lake, has recently launched an intelligent management platform backed by artificial intelligence (AI) technology to boost bird conservation.

Through data analysis, the Poyang Lake National Nature Reserve Administration in Jiangxi Province can allocate patrol personnel efficiently and launch timely interventions in response to anomalies such as food shortages.

Ecological civilization

CHINA’S central authorities yesterday started a new round of environmental inspections, said the Ministry of Ecology and Environment.

Five teams, conducting the first batch of this third round of inspections, have been dispatched to Fujian, Henan, Hainan, Gansu and Qinghai provinces for one-month inspections, according to the ministry.

Inspectors will focus on issues such as the implementation of major decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on ecological civilization construction and relevant provincial departments’ implementation of ecological environmental protection responsibilities, said the ministry.

Cultural relics

CHINA has released a guideline to boost scientific and technological innovation related to cultural relics, according to the National Cultural Heritage Administration.

The guideline mapped out plans to optimize cultural relics-related sci-tech innovation. It also proposed measures to forge better platforms, expand the talent pool, and enhance the incentive mechanism in this regard.
