LONGHUA District promoted its key construction areas and government service initiatives during an open day event held at the Joint Innovation Center of GS Park in Guanlan Subdistrict on Friday.

Key construction areas highlighted included the Shenzhen North Railway Station International Business District, Longhua Mega Business Circle, Jiulongshan Digital Town, Luhu Central Town, Dalang Fashion Town, and Guanlan Culture Town. These areas are strategically designed to serve various purposes such as facilitating business exchanges, fostering industrial development, and providing public destinations for shopping and travel, according to Zheng Qiaoling, deputy director of the Longhua District Key Area Construction Center.

The center aims to complete a total of 508 construction projects, with a combined fixed investment of 60 billion yuan (US$9.3 billion), by the end of this year, according to Zheng.

Among the ongoing construction endeavors are projects such as the Shenzhen No. 2 Children’s Hospital, the Tianma Headquarters Building in Shenzhen North Railway Station International Business District, the Guanlan Public Arts Center in Guanlan Culture Town, the Litou Mountain Sports Park in Dalang Fashion Town, and Mindray’s Longhua manufacturing base in Jiulongshan Digital Town.

The Longhua District Government Services and Data Management Bureau presented the initiatives to streamline the application and processing of government service items, leveraging new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance efficiency.

Jiang Chunzhong, vice secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Longhua District Government Services and Data Management Bureau, revealed that the bureau has streamlined the application and processing of 84 items related to government subsidies benefiting enterprises, talents, teachers, students, the elderly, and the disabled. To enhance convenience, a dedicated feature has been integrated into the Longhua section of the iShenzhen App, allowing users to seamlessly search for, apply for, and track the processing of service items.

Jiang stated that the number of streamlined government subsidy items is expected to exceed 100 by the end of this year.

The bureau has been operating an AI-powered search engine on the app’s Longhua section since August last year, which facilitates the streamlining of government service processing, according to Jiang. This engine assists users in efficiently navigating through a database of over 400 subsidies issued by 11 government agencies in Longhua, helping them find items that best suit their situations and needs.

What’s more, users can access original texts and elucidations of 47 district-level preferential policies and be redirected to more than 194 service items related to those policies.

In addition to the aforementioned projects, the bureau introduced the Chinese and English “Longhua Government Online” websites and the iLonghua online information portal at the event.

The open day, organized by the Longhua District Government Services and Data Management Bureau and the district’s key area construction center, marked the commencement of a series of events aimed at enhancing government transparency.
