Chen Siqi, Chang Zhipeng vankochensq@163.com A MARKET aiming to showcase the culture and tourism of Lanzhou, capital city of Northwest China’s Gansu Province, was held at Huaqiangbei Pedestrian Street yesterday. Visitors had the opportunity to explore Lanzhou’s unique local products and exquisite cultural items, including toys inspired by the Gansu Province Museum collection. At an interactive section, many visitors were lured by the tantalizing aroma of freshly made handmade noodles. They were treated to the authentic flavors of beef noodles, served with a delicious broth. Additionally, the market exhibited a range of nationally recognized cultural and creative products and brands. “The beef noodles tasted good. I never expected to savor the renowned Lanzhou beef noodles right here near my home. Moreover, the masters showed us the entire noodle-making process, which made my day,” a citizen said. Jin Xiaoqin, head of the Industrial Development Department at the Lanzhou Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, said, “We aim to promote the enchanting allure of Lanzhou to Shenzhen, allowing people in southern China to experience its charm.” One of Lanzhou’s intangible cultural heritages, the exquisite craft of Li Haiming’s thread weaving enamel, was displayed at the market. Attendees were also captivated by a show featuring intricate earrings, brooches, jewelry cases, and paintings. “Our distinctive approach involves incorporating the craft of thread weaving enamel, traditionally used on metalware for royal households, into our artworks and products,” shared Wang Shuli, a skilled inheritor of this craft, in an interview with Shenzhen Daily. “We introduced these ideas to create innovative products, as our inheritors seek to bring new life into these traditional crafts. We will go through 12 processes before finishing a product,” Wang added. |
