Expo boosts time-honored brands to thrive

MORE than 300 national and local time-honored brands, well-known domestic and foreign consumer goods companies and e-commerce platforms have participated in the 2023 China GBA Time-honored Brands (Culture) Expo that opened in Shenzhen on Saturday.

The three-day expo, with an exhibition area of 15,000 square meters at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District, will run through today.

Exhibitors cover industries such as catering and accommodation, food and beverages, retail, medicine and health, arts and crafts, consumer electronics, jewelry and watches, apparel and fashion, furniture and home decoration.

Time-honored brands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) as well as national time-honored brands such as Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Holdings Ltd., Luzhou Laojiao, Haitian, Tao Tao Ju, Lee Kum Kee, Pearl River Piano, Auratic and AIRLAND made their appearances with signature products.

The expo also features a work conference on the high-quality development of time-honored brands in the GBA and 10 professional forums, inviting well-known enterprise representatives, experts and scholars, and industry professionals to explore the opportunities and challenges faced by time-honored brands in terms of inheritance, innovation, protection, and digital transformation and upgrading.

Time-honored brand, or Laozihao in Chinese, is a coveted title given to brands with a long history and well-earned reputation. Such brands are China’s important historical and cultural heritage, with valuable commercial resources.

At the expo’s opening ceremony, multiple innovative achievements such as application results and typical cases of Chinese time-honored brands were released.

Standards for the selection of Shenzhen’s time-honored brands were also unveiled by the Shenzhen Time-honored Brand Association and the Shenzhen Institute of Standards and Technology.

The set of standards aims to enhance the fairness, rationality and authority of Shenzhen’s time-honored brands at the local and even national levels, and establish a sound long-term mechanism for the inheritance and innovative development of Shenzhen’s time-honored brands.

A special tour has also been launched, in which exhibitors can travel to GBA cities to experience the vitality and commercial charm of time-honored brands in the GBA.
