Han Ximin 1824295095@qq.com A SYMPOSIUM on education innovation for students from Hong Kong and Macao and international students from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) was held at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (HIT Shenzhen) on Saturday. The event, organized by the HIT GBA High-Quality Development Joint Research Center, brought together experts and researchers to explore themes such as university cooperation in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA), international education and international communication on Chinese modernization, youth entrepreneurship, and cross-disciplinary education bridging liberal arts and engineering. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Belt and Road Initiative. According to Liang Dapeng, assistant president of HIT Shenzhen, the university recorded a historic enrollment of 375 international students, predominantly from BRI countries, for undergraduate and graduate studies. Zhang Meng, director of HIT GBA High-Quality Development Joint Research Center, emphasized the need for innovative approaches in teaching a general education course. He suggested narrative reconstruction and diverse teaching methodologies that blend personal experiences and values of students from BRI countries with China’s developmental journey, enabling them to recognize China’s progress. |
