AS part of the Shenzhen Creative December event, a floral design competition was held Dec. 9 at the Art Design Center in Luohu District. A panel of judges, consisting of experts from Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and the mainland, evaluated the entries based on criteria such as theme, composition, color and craftsmanship. The winning works are currently on display at an exhibition running through Jan. 9, 2024. During the competition, the experts also shared insights into the floral culture of the Tang (618-907), Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and floral designers demonstrated traditional flower arrangements from those historical periods. The integration of an ancient Chinese dance performance into the floral presentations during the competition vividly brought traditional culture to life. Notably, the competition used eco-friendly materials in the floral designs, elevating public consciousness about environmental protection. (Cao Zhen) |
