At a meeting held last week in Hong Kong, the two announced the establishment of the Shandong-Hong Kong industry and talent alliance for further cooperation. The inaugural members of the alliance include 16 organizations from Shandong and more than 40 from Hong Kong, encompassing business associations, enterprises and universities in both regions. Alliance members are from various fields such as manufacturing, big data, artificial intelligence, finance, logistics and innovation technology. Zhou Liwei, vice governor of Shandong Province, invited Hong Kong companies to invest in industrial projects in Shandong, with a specific focus on Shandong’s 10 modern industries. Shandong and Hong Kong have a robust foundation for mutual exchange and collaboration. Currently, 66 Shandong companies are listed in Hong Kong, while 5,881 Hong Kong-funded companies are actively expanding in Shandong. Shandong has utilized a total of US$80.45 billion in Hong Kong capital, representing 64.7% of the province’s total foreign capital used. |
