Service upgrade facilitates starting businesses
    2023-12-27  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

OVER 100 smart registration terminals in Shenzhen have simultaneously launched functions for electronic business licenses and seals application and corporate bank account opening appointment, following the city’s one-stop service for starting businesses, which recently completed its third upgrade this year.

The upgrade was a pioneering move nationwide, further facilitating the establishment of businesses, according to the Shenzhen Administration for Market Regulation, which developed and launched the service in 2018 to optimize the city’s business environment.

The city’s market regulator said the one-stop service for starting businesses has undergone eight upgrades over the past five years.

The over 100 smart registration terminals widely distributed throughout the city are supplemental channels for the one-stop service, providing convenient self-service options for the general public, such as obtaining business licenses, applying for electronic licenses and seals, scheduling appointments for corporate bank account opening, and setting up self-employed businesses.

“The whole process took less than half an hour. The one-stop service is very convenient and intelligent. And these services are all free, greatly reducing the cost of business establishment,” a legal representative of a cross-border e-commerce logistics company registered in Luohu District said.

The representative submitted a registration application online Friday and received a notification of approval on the same day.

“I didn’t expect that I can now collect the business license at a nearby bank outlet. With an ID card, I can also make an appointment to open a corporate bank account and apply for an electronic business license and seals at the same time,” the person said.

Shenzhen so far has over 4 million business entities, according to statistics. Among them, over 470,000 active entities have obtained electronic business licenses, and 570,000 have acquired electronic seals.

After completing registration, business entities in the city also need to handle matters such as opening corporate bank accounts and applying for electronic business licenses and seals. (Zhang Yu)
