Global Legal Think Tank launched
    2024-01-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN took a groundbreaking step by launching the Global Legal Think Tank during a forum focused on legal governance for overseas businesses Friday.

The interdisciplinary initiative brought together experts and professionals from the legal, academic, and business circles, making it the first of its kind in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA).

The think tank aims to provide comprehensive legal insights for businesses involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. It also seeks to furnish detailed reports on evolving laws in various countries and regions, advocating China’s legal policies regarding overseas businesses, and publishing analytical reports reflecting trends in the legal industry.

Gao Shu, director of China Commercial Law Firm, underscored the international significance of laws. “Law is the best international language,” Gao said. “The Global Legal Think Tank serves as a pivotal platform for legal services, seeking diversified partnerships to monitor trends in legal governance for overseas businesses and actively contribute to the development of legal frameworks for overseas businesses.”

Highlighting Shenzhen’s core role in the GBA and the Belt and Road Initiative, he called for Shenzhen to optimize its legal service system for overseas businesses while embracing open and collaborative concepts.

The GBA has demonstrated prominent advantages in implementing three legal systems, Dute News reported. As of the end of November last year, a total of 378 lawyers from the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions had been certified to work in the GBA, with 215 of them practicing in Shenzhen.
