Young artists’ gongbi paintings on display
    2024-01-03  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MORE than 100 gongbi paintings created by 62 young Chinese artists are on display at Guan Shanyue Art Museum.

Chinese gongbi painting uses meticulous brush technique that delimits details very precisely and without expressive variation. Traditionally, it depicts figures, plants and birds in vibrant colors.

Since its launch in 2014, the Guan Shanyue Art Museum’s young artists gongbi painting exhibition has witnessed the evolution of aesthetic expression and technical exploration among young artists. This infusion of new ideas and approaches has breathed fresh vitality into this traditional Chinese art form.

At the exhibition, visitors can also explore two distinct spaces that house art installations created by Yang Hong and Chen Qian. They express their perspectives on the fusion of traditional and modern culture.

Dates: Through Feb. 21

Booking: WeChat account “gsyart”

Venue: Guan Shanyue Art Museum, Futian District (关山月美术馆)

Metro: Line 3 or 4 to Children’s Palace Station (少年宫站), Exit F
