Yang Yunfei 1017800664@qq.com THE Shenzhen Institute of Information Technology (SZIIT) has expanded its cooperation with the corporate sector to train the country’s much needed talent of the future. The SZIIT announced Wednesday that it has teamed up with Shenzhen Inovance Technology Co. to launch a program to train senior engineers and a technology research institute for robotics. The collaboration with Shenzhen Inovance follows similar moves by the SZIIT to tie up with tech giants Huawei Technologies Co., Tencent Holdings Ltd. and Kylinsoft, a domestic operating system provider which unveiled China’s first open-source desktop operating system in July last year, to offer training programs to students to nurture engineers of the future with trending technologies. Working together with an industry-leading company is expected to give a fresh impetus to the SZIIT’s aspiration of building itself into an excellent vocational college. The partnership with Shenzhen Inovance signifies another solid step for the SZIIT in promoting the linkup of education, talent, industry and innovation, the SZIIT said. Hailing the cooperation with Shenzhen Inovance as a significant move in promoting integration between industry and education, higher education institutions and tech firms, Wang Hui, president of the SZIIT, expected the training program to help cultivate digital engineers urgently needed to meet the rapid upgrading demands of the industry. During a ceremony held in September last year to celebrate the launch of an advanced laser manufacturing research and development center jointly established by the SZIIT and laser and automation equipment maker Hymson Laser Technology Group Co., Wang said that in the future, the SZIIT plans to attract about 10 more industry-leading companies to jointly build research and development centers. Zhu Xingming, chairman of Shenzhen Inovance, donated a batch of equipment and instruments worth 1.42 million yuan (US$ 198,374) to the SZIIT. Zhu anticipated that within the next 5-10 years, the Shenzhen Inovance training program could become an important platform for cultivating high-end intelligent manufacturing engineers in China. Founded in April 2002, the SZIIT is a national demonstration higher vocational institution, national demonstration software vocational institution and pilot school of the “Sino-German Automotive Vocational Education Project” launched by China’s Ministry of Education. |
