KENNETH FOK KAI-KONG, vice president of Fok Ying Tung Group and vice chairman of the All-China Youth Federation, acclaimed Shenzhen dance drama “Wing Chun” as a classic and that it deserves to go global.

Fok watched the drama for a second time at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts on Friday night, with his wife Guo Jingjing, known in China as “The Princess of Diving,” and his eldest son.

“I think the drama deserves to go global as we hope to showcase the soft power of Chinese culture around the world,” he said.

He said dance dramas are unique in that they break down language barriers. “Regardless of cultural background and language, one can appreciate the story behind ‘Wing Chun.’”

He said his eldest son is learning martial arts at school and is very interested in Wing Chun. “After watching the show, he was a bit eager to give it a try,” Fok said.
