SALES of train tickets for the Spring Festival travel rush officially start Friday at www.12306.cn, the official ticket website of China Railway, 15 days ahead of the holiday transport season.

This year’s 40-day transport season will start Jan. 26 and conclude March 5. The peak travel period is anticipated in the week leading up to the Spring Festival Eve on Feb. 9.

Holidaymakers can purchase tickets for the Spring Festival Eve starting from Jan. 26.

China State Railway Group Co. Ltd. recently implemented a new train operation plan aimed at enhancing passenger and cargo transport capacity by adding 233 additional passenger trains daily, bringing the total to 11,149.
