



AS the Chinese New Year approaches, the much-anticipated Shenzhen Spring Festival Flower Fair is set to enliven the festive spirit across the city. Each district has earmarked venues for the fair, scheduled to run from Feb. 3 to 9. Shoppers can buy not only fresh flowers but also Chinese New Year decorations and snacks. In addition to the fairs, numerous flower markets will be scattered throughout Shenzhen. Luohu District Luohu’s flower fair on Aiguo Road has been an iconic event since its establishment in 1998. It has become one of the most memorable events during the Spring Festival for Shenzheners. The bridge, on a par with the High Line Park in New York City, is elevated above the streets, spans over six major roads and links nearby landmarks such as Bao’an Stadium, Bao’an Library, Bay Opera of Shenzhen and OH Bay. Under the bridge, the space is adorned with lush horticulture, rain gardens and resting squares and art installations on the ground. Providing a panoramic view of the city, the bridge is an ideal location for locals to relax. Venue: The Baywalk bridge (滨海廊桥) Metro: Line 11 to Bao’an Station (宝安站), Exit C; Line 5 to Baohua Station (宝华站), Exit D Longgang District Harbin, a city of ice and snow, gained instant fame in China this winter and one of its features is Russian-style architecture. Now Shenzheners can also admire Russian architecture and enjoy cultural events during Longgang’s flower fair at Shenzhen MSU-BIT University which will host more than 100 stalls.
