Tourism carnival

THE 2024 Shenzhen Spring Festival Cultural Tourism Carnival kicked off at the Civic Center in Futian District on Sunday, marking the start of the Chinese New Year celebration.

The city promises a fresh and dynamic experience, with a focus on emerging consumption trends like cultural and entertainment tourism, sports events, and cultural heritage. Across different district and Dapeng New Area, each boasting unique characteristics, over 200 activities are set to unfold during the Spring Festival.

Well-known tech giants including Huawei, BYD, Tencent, and DJI will open their doors to visitors from all over the country, providing access to showcase venues and orchestrating a diverse array of cultural activities.

Cold weather alert

SHENZHEN Meteorological Observatory has elevated the city’s cold weather alert from yellow to orange, effective as of 3 p.m. yesterday. The upgrade is in anticipation of temperatures dropping to 5°C and below today and tomorrow, indicating a high probability of cold weather persisting for two to three days.

In response to the alert, outdoor workers have been urged to promptly implement measures to combat the cold, while designated shelters have been opened to provide refuge from the chilly conditions.
