Zhang Yu JeniZhang13@163.com SHENZHEN and Hong Kong are advancing their collaboration with a new hospital to be established in the Luohu Checkpoint area, aiming to facilitate medical care for patients from both cities. On Monday, Luohu District and C-MER Eye Care Holdings Ltd. signed a letter of intent for strategic cooperation. According to the agreement, C-MER Eye Care Holdings Ltd. will construct a comprehensive Hong Kong-style hospital in the Luohu Checkpoint area, which will be the first of its kind in Shenzhen upon completion. The hospital will offer a platform for Hong Kong doctors to serve mainland and Hong Kong patients in Shenzhen. Set to cover a floor space of approximately 10,000 square meters, the hospital will provide a wide range of services including ophthalmology, dentistry, medical imaging, physical examinations, gynecology, traditional Chinese medicine, and urology. Luohu intends to actively draw on Hong Kong’s diagnostic and treatment standards and service processes through expert sharing and academic exchange with C-MER. Luohu District, which borders Hong Kong, houses nearly 40,000 permanent residents from Hong Kong and is home to nearly 6,500 Hong Kong-funded companies, according to district records. |
