THE right tunnel of the eastern extension of Metro Line 7, from Peking University Station to Xili Lake Station, was completed recently and marks the completion of this section of the tunnel, a source from the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau said yesterday.

The completion of this tunnel work is a milestone in the construction of the extension line and paves the way for the operation of the section, which is scheduled to open in 2025.

The extension line runs 2.28 kilometers and has two stations.

In other developments, several exits of Civic Center and Fumin stations on Metro Line 4 will be closed at 8:30 p.m. today and tomorrow, respectively. The closure is necessary to facilitate air-conditioning renovation work, as indicated by a notice from the Metro Line 4 operator.
