Departures also saw a significant rise, with 7.66 million passenger trips recorded, representing a 42% year-on-year increase, data from the Shenzhen Municipal Transport Bureau showed. In terms of transportation modes, railway, aviation, waterway and road networks collectively handled 2.65 million departures, a year-on-year increase of 73.6%, while the number of arrivals via these means reached 3.41 million, up by 53.9% from a year earlier. The city’s Metro system handled 32.13 million trips throughout the holiday period, up by 39.6% year on year, while ground-based public transportation services, including buses, taxis, and app-based ride-hailing services, facilitated 13.02 million passenger trips, up by 17.6% from the previous year. |
