SHENZHEN Customs has sent automated customs clearance messages about 28,461 shipments to express delivery companies regarding the status of goods in their care since the launch of a new platform designed to streamline clearance procedures Dec. 25 last year, customs officials said. Shenzhen Customs took the lead among customs authorities in China in launching the platform, resulting in a 30% increase in the efficiency of goods clearance. The platform integrates functions to handle more than 20 documents across categories including carrier registration and information examination, overseas warehouse registration for cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and clearance reservation. By utilizing the platform, an enterprise could reduce the need for at least seven on-site business handling processes. “Delayed handling status for the clearance of goods and documents can result in prolonged storage for goods, thereby decreasing goods turnover efficiency,” said Zhao Shenggui, a manager at SF Express. He added that the platform will help alleviate storage pressures, reduce enterprise costs, and facilitate goods clearance. (Chen Siqi) |
