Longhua builds superchargers at housing estates
    2024-02-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE construction of supercharging stations at government-subsidized housing estates officially commenced in Longhua District on Tuesday, the Daily Sunshine reported.

The initiative marks the city’s pioneering effort to integrate photovoltaic power generation, energy storage, charging, and discharging at housing estates.

The project is under the technical guidance of a team led by Professor Ouyang Minggao from Tsinghua University. It incorporates advanced technologies such as photovoltaic power generation, flexible electricity consumption, and liquid-cooled supercharging to establish a unified network for power generation, storage, and distribution.

The photovoltaic system of the project operates on a model prioritizing self-consumption before distributing surplus electricity to the grid, thereby maximizing electricity usage efficiency. This system is capable of generating over 550,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

What sets Longhua’s supercharging stations apart is their placement at the entrances of housing estates, prioritizing resident convenience. Thanks to the advanced technologies, a new energy vehicle can be fully charged within 10 minutes, offering residents the convenience of “ultra-fast” charging while enjoying a cup of coffee, according to the contractor.      (Han Ximin)
