City unveils measures to bolster auto exports
    2024-02-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN unveiled a comprehensive plan designed to promote automobile exports recently in a bid to seize development opportunities associated with this sector, foster the integrated growth of the automotive industry, and accelerate the establishment of a world-class automotive hub.

The plan outlines 24 measures categorized into six areas, according to Shenzhen Economic Daily.

The plan proposes expediting the construction of the second phase of the BYD automotive industrial park in the Shenshan Special Cooperation Zone. It also advocates supporting auto enterprises in manufacturing models tailored for export purposes, and encouraging both auto manufacturers and traders to broaden their foothold in overseas markets.

To enhance the export of second-hand vehicles, the plan advocates for the cultivation of over 20 robust and certified enterprises capable of acquiring the necessary qualifications for second-hand car export business. It underscores the importance of bolstering cooperation among entities within the automotive supply chain, auto dealers, and State-owned enterprises proficient in sourcing second-hand vehicles. Additionally, it emphasizes their expansion into foreign markets and provision of after-sales services.

Moreover, the plan proposes a series of measures to maximize the efficiency of second-hand car exports, including the establishment of a fast-track channel for export permit processing.

In addition, the plan includes 11 measures aimed at enhancing the export transportation capability of Shenzhen’s checkpoints and further refining the comprehensive service system for automobile exports.

These measures encompass initiatives such as increasing the number of foreign trade auto routes departing from or stopping at Shenzhen ports, bolstering support for China-Europe train transportation for vehicle exports, encouraging auto-manufacturing enterprises and trade-oriented companies to accelerate the export of automotive components, and providing supportive measures for enterprises to minimize logistics costs and participate in overseas exhibitions.
