Tax refund shops

SHENZHEN has begun the selection of the eighth batch of departure tax refund shops. Qualified enterprises can apply before April 30, according to a notice jointly released by the Shenzhen Municipal Commerce Bureau and the Shenzhen Tax Service of the State Taxation Administration.

Shenzhen announced the seventh batch of overseas tourists departure tax refund shops at the end of February this year, with a total of 28 stores selected. The city currently has over 200 departure tax refund shops.

The instant departure tax refund service is for foreign travelers and compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan who meet the conditions of the departure tax rebate. It allows them to receive refunds directly from stores after purchasing tax refund items.

Overpass opens

XINCHENG Overpass, located in the Qianhai area, opened to traffic recently as the city’s first overpass constructed using large-scale prefabrication technologies.

With 13 ramps totaling 7.46 kilometers in length, the 4.73-kilometer overpass links Nanping Expressway, Bao’an Boulevard, Shennan Boulevard, and Beihuan Boulevard. It will greatly alleviate traffic congestion on Bao’an Boulevard and enhance connectivity between Nanping Expressway and Bao’an Boulevard.

Cargo flights added

A SHANDONG Airlines cargo plane recently departed for Singapore from Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport, raising the weekly flights from Shenzhen to the city-state to a total of 17.

The flight will operate four times a week and transport e-commerce goods, general trade merchandise, fresh produce, and electronics. At present, over 130 tons of merchandise are shipped weekly from the Shenzhen airport to Singapore.
