Spring Festival travel rush ends, records sharp rise in trips

Passengers are seen at Nanjing Railway Station in East China’s Jiangsu Province during the Spring Festival travel season in 2024. The 40-day travel rush concluded Tuesday. During that period, China’s railway network handled 484 million passenger trips, with an average of 12.089 million trips per day, marking a 39% increase year on year and an 18.8% increase compared to the same period in 2019. During those 40 days, the national civil aviation sector handled over 2.08 million passenger trips per day, hitting a record high.Xinhua
