THE spring session of the 17th Overseas Returnees Career Fair is set to be held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District on April 13. More than 3,000 job vacancies are expected to be up for grabs, a news conference said Tuesday.

The career fair, organized by the Shenzhen Overseas Chinese Returnees Association and www.jobshaigui.com, will feature positions from various sectors including internet, finance, consulting, manufacturing, communications, and education.

More than 150 companies will participate in the fair. Prominent companies and institutions including Tencent, Walmart, Foxconn, Decathlon, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, and Standard Chartered will be in attendance. More enterprises may also be in attendance as the registration period is ongoing.

The fair is expected to attract more than 10,000 jobseekers. “The event will attract a great number of overseas returnees from esteemed international institutions,” a staffer from the association said.

A new feature of the fair is an area exclusively for alumni of various institutions, where alumni representatives will be on hand to provide career development guidance to jobseekers.

Additionally, a career development forum will be available to help overseas returnees adjust to the domestic job market.

This event is part of a series of career fairs for overseas Chinese returnees, with upcoming fairs scheduled in Shanghai on March 30, Beijing on April 21, and Guangzhou on April 27.
