Shenzhen to hold AI sanitation robot competition
    2024-03-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

SHENZHEN will hold its inaugural artificial intelligence (AI) sanitation robot competition to spur sustainable growth in the sanitation industry.

The first Shenzhen (International) Intelligent Sanitation Cleaning Robot Competition will be held concurrently with the 2024 Shenzhen (International) Urban Environment Industry Expo at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center in Bao’an District from March 25 to 27.

The competition is being held to “create a benchmark event with industry influence, drive the sustainable and high-quality development of the intelligent sanitation industry, and provide a professional exchange platform for the global sanitation industry,” Shenzhen Economic Daily reported yesterday.

Last year, Shenzhen established a nearly 3-square-kilometer demonstration area for AI-based street cleaning that encompasses Lianhua Hill Park and the Civic Center in Futian.

This area allows firms from Shenzhen and other cities in the country to showcase their AI-powered products.

Currently, Shenzhen has more than 100 AI-powered street sweeper machines in operation.

Shenzhen’s support of the intelligent sanitation industry has attracted firms from all over the country to invest and seek cooperation in the sector, which has resulted in the high-quality development of the industry, the Shenzhen Economic Daily report said. (Yang Yunfei)
