THE Drone World Congress 2024, the International Low -altitude Economy and UAS Expo 2024, and the ninth Shenzhen International UAV Expo are set to take place in Shenzhen from May 24 to 26, the events’ organizing committee announced at a press conference held in Futian on Saturday.

Yang Peng, the congress’ secretary-general, stated that the eighth Drone World Congress aims to draw in over 10,000 industry experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from over 110 countries and regions.

During the congress, more than 30 parallel forums and over 60 product and technology exchange meetings will be conducted to advance the healthy growth of the low-altitude economy and intelligent unmanned systems applications. The forums and meetings will be centered on themes like drones, the low-altitude economy, low-altitude digital transportation, electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) technology, emergency drones, and AI robots.

Over the last eight years, the Shenzhen International UAV Expo has emerged as a crucial event for the scientific, technological, economic, and trade interactions within China’s UAV industry. The expo has showcased the latest drones, unmanned systems, vehicles, ships, and other products.

This year’s expo introduces the international low-altitude economy and unmanned systems section, which will feature an exhibition area of 30,000 square meters.

There will be demonstrations of over 4,000 unmanned products like helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, multi-rotor aircraft, airships, and aerial vehicles from 500 Chinese and foreign UAV companies. To encourage innovation, the organizing committee has instituted awards for exhibitors in different categories.

Experts predict that the Chinese low-altitude economy industry’s output value will potentially reach 2 to 3 trillion yuan (US$277.5 billion to US$416.3 billion) by 2030, with drones playing a crucial role.

Recent statistics indicate that as of the end of last year, there were over 18,000 drone companies nationwide generating an annual output value of 152 billion yuan. Shenzhen alone hosts 1,730 drone companies with an output value of 96 billion yuan.
