THE Shenzhen Concert Hall has curated four shows in celebration of the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism.

Organ concert

Olivier Latry, the titular organist at the Cathedral of Notre-Dame and a professor of organ at the Paris Conservatory of Music, will perform a concert tomorrow evening. The program features Liszt’s “Liebestraum” (“Love Dream”), Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue in E Minor, BWV 548,” excerpts from Saint-Saëns’ beloved “Carnival of the Animals,” Jehan Alain’s “Aria,” and Maurice Duruflé’s “Prelude and Fugue in B Major, Op. 7, No. 1,” among others. As one of the most distinguished concert organists in the world today, Latry will also showcase his improvisational skills during the concert.

The Versailles Royal Opera Orchestra, on its first tour to China, will perform a concert of Baroque classics. Chinese-born violinist Zhang Zhang will serve as the concertmaster. The program will feature works by Vivaldi, Handel, Jean-Baptiste Lully, and Jean-Philippe Rameau.
