FROM tomorrow to Monday, Shenzhen may experience thunderstorms and intermittent heavy rainfall. Additionally, the risk of strong convective weather will be higher, according to the latest weather forecast.

During the Qingming Festival holiday, which starts from today and extends to Saturday, the weather is expected to be unstable. Citizens are advised to brace for abrupt episodes of intense convective weather.

Friday will see cloudy conditions, with brief spells of showers or thunderstorms. From Saturday through Monday, Shenzhen may experience intermittent showers or thunderstorms, with heavy rainfall anticipated at times. Weather stability is projected to return by Tuesday, with skies transitioning from cloudy to sunny.

Additionally, from this afternoon until Sunday, there will be continuous heavy rainfall in central and northern regions of Guangdong Province. Some areas might encounter heavy rainstorms accompanied by strong convective weather, with wind forces ranging from level 8 to 11, as per an alert released by the Guangdong Provincial Emergency Management Department and the provincial meteorological bureau.

During the holiday, it is crucial to guard against the safety risks posed by severe convective weather, especially in regard to transportation, tomb-sweeping activities, spring farming, and high-altitude operations, authorities said. Precautions should be taken to guard against sudden flash floods caused by heavy precipitation and geological disasters such as mudslides, landslides, and urban and rural waterlogging, according to the authorities.

In the event of inclement weather, citizens are advised to seek shelter indoors, ensure doors and windows are securely closed, and stay away from balconies.
