PEOPLE driving to tourist attractions in the eastern part of the city, including Meisha and the Dapeng Peninsula, are reminded to make reservations for weekends and holidays between the May Day and National Day holidays.

Areas requiring reservations include roads in Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, OCT East, and the roads south of the Diefushan Tunnel on the Dapeng Peninsula in Dapeng New Area, according to a notice from the city’s traffic police department.

Following nearly five years of renovation, Xiaomeisha Coastal Park will undergo a trial run during the May Day holiday. Shenzhen SEZ Development Group has spent a total of 15 billion yuan (US$2 billion) for the renovation of the Xiaomeisha coast belt, aiming for an area integrating tourism, residences, and businesses.

The transformation includes the creation of a sea-land park, a commercial district with bustling streets, a fantasy sea world, and the picturesque Meisha Bay.

Police are anticipating heavy traffic in the Xiaomeisha area during the upcoming May Day holiday.
