THE Shenzhen (Qianhai) Large Model and Algorithm Innovation Service Center, located on the fifth floor of the Qianhai International Talent Hub, was unveiled yesterday morning.

This center is poised to significantly enhance the development of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry in Qianhai once it officially commences operations.

The center will offer a range of services including registration consultations, coaching, training, and pre-testing for enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. These services aim to expedite the research, development, and deployment of large models and algorithms.

Furthermore, the center will leverage Shenzhen’s top-tier digital, computing, and network resources to provide enterprises with comprehensive services. These services encompass data circulation transactions, guidance on cross-border data, computing power allocation, high-speed network services, assistance with award and subsidy applications, and financial and tax consulting. The center’s goal is to accelerate the conversion of scientific and technological accomplishments in the AI field into potent new productive forces.

Yuan Fuyong, deputy director of the Qianhai Authority, revealed that the revenue of Qianhai’s information services industry surged by 51.5% to 221.3 billion yuan (US$30.5 billion) last year. Qianhai currently hosts 289 AI firms that constitute one-eighth of Shenzhen’s total.

The rapid advancement and widespread adoption of generative AI technology in recent years have significantly transformed production methods and efficiency across various industries. However, this progress has also introduced a host of new challenges such as network security, ideological concerns, data security, and intellectual property protection.

To support the development of the AI industry in accordance with regulations, the center will offer streamlined compliance registration services for enterprises. These services will assist companies in successfully navigating online information registration processes, thereby enhancing the efficiency of product launches.
