It has captivated expats with a powerful message of innovation and possibility. Kevin Gilboe, designer and project lead of mobility at Design Core Detroit, said the video is cool and the idea behind the video is very powerful. “I love how it starts with the story of a child dreaming about the future. I remember being a little kid and wanting to fly myself, so it was really cool to see. Then, the work shows people crafting the wings and presents the spirit to go try them,” he said. “Shenzhen is the city that I think is known for doing things. The video is all about doing something — taking advantage of your dream and making it real. I also think the high-tech part, embracing technology, is very much what Shenzhen is all about. I look forward to showing the video to my colleagues when I go back to the U.S. this week,” said Gilboe. Priyasha Sharma, from India, said that watching the video literally gave her goose bumps. “The video portrays the importance of persistence and the rule of never giving up on what you believe in and your dreams. Shenzhen is indeed a city of dreams; any innovations the city creates just make me proud to live here. I truly hope this video reaches more people to inspire them,” said Sharma. Eunbyol Park, from South Korea, also said that the story of a man who is persistent in the pursuit of his dreams is very inspiring and noted that the video also depicts the spirit of Shenzhen as a city full of young people achieving their dreams. Dhruv Bharat Shah, an international student at Shenzhen University, said that the video portrays a very meaningful message. “Whether you are a child or an adult, if you have a dream and work hard, you can achieve it,” Shah said. |
