RESIDENTS of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan living in Shenzhen will soon have more educational options for their children. On Saturday, senior officials from St. Hilary’s Secondary School (Shenzhen) announced during a conference held in Nanshan District that the school would open in September.

Located in Dapeng New Area, the school will provide a diverse range of curriculum options tailored to meet the varying educational needs of students. At the senior secondary level (S4 to S6), students can opt for either the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education curriculum or the British GCE A-level program.

Alternatively, students may choose to transfer to St. Hilary’s Hong Kong campus to pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program or the GCE A-level program, offering multiple pathways for university admission.

The primary language of instruction at St. Hilary’s Secondary School (Shenzhen) is English. However, courses such as Chinese language, Chinese history, Civics, and Physical Education are taught in either Mandarin or Cantonese.

Tso Kai-lok, the principal of St. Hilary’s Secondary School (Shenzhen), said, “The Shenzhen campus has assembled a new teaching team comprised of mostly management and teaching staff with extensive experience from renowned schools in Hong Kong. This collaboration will enhance educational standards in both Shenzhen and Hong Kong, enabling students from both regions to benefit from increased exchange opportunities and thrive together.”

Having established its presence in Hong Kong in 2015, St. Hilary’s has since opened six campuses, including kindergartens, primary schools, and secondary schools, across the New Territories and Kowloon regions.
