Every two years, up to 10 tech researchers with the potential to be leaders in their respective fields will be selected, according to a release from the Shenzhen Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau. To qualify, candidates must meet at least one of the following criteria: they are currently undertaking or have participated in major national-level scientific research tasks, scientific infrastructure construction, or major projects; they are leading or have led national-level scientific innovation platforms or key discipline construction with outstanding contributions. Additionally, candidates may be leaders of provincial-level innovation teams who have achieved significant breakthroughs in forward-looking basic research and original innovations or made significant contributions to overcoming key common technologies, frontier-leading technologies, modern engineering technologies, and disruptive technologies. The selected researchers are required to work full-time for five years and will receive 10 to 20 million yuan each for improving research capabilities and strengthening team building.
