    2024-05-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Wang Jian (C), chairman and co-founder of Shenzhen-based BGI Group, and members of a research team from BGI pose for a photo on the summit of Mount Qomolangma at 8,848.86 meters yesterday. Using handheld ultrasound equipment, they sent the world’s first ultrasound image while on top of the world. The team also recorded electroencephalogram data. This is the second time that Wang has reached the top of the mountain. At age 70, he is the oldest person in China to have achieved this feat.  (Story on P3)
