THERE is a well-known saying that positions Luohu District as an essential barometer not only for Shenzhen’s gold and jewelry industry, but the nation’s too.

At the 20th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), Luohu gathered a number of companies from the gold and jewelry sector to exhibit their latest products.

One standout was Cuihua, with a heritage spanning over a century. The firm unveiled a variety of jewelry sets including one specially crafted for a group wedding May 20. In China, May 20 is often associated with romantic gestures due to its phonetic similarity to “I love you” in Mandarin.

Guo Yitan, the company’s chief designer, said: “In the past couple of years, we’ve observed a significant shift with more young individuals embracing Chinese fashion trends. As our brand focuses on traditional Chinese jewelry, we are pleased to witness this evolving interest.”

Moreover, the Shenzhen Jewelry Museum showcased a selection of exquisite jewelry pieces. The museum in Shuibei was the first of its kind in the country to be established through a unique public-private partnership.

A local visitor surnamed Ge expressed admiration and singled out an abstract dog-shaped exhibit that left him with a lasting impression. “It is truly exquisite and exhibits remarkable artistry,” he said.

Luohu’s Shuibei-Buxin area has emerged as one of China’s most prominent gold and jewelry industrial hubs because of its high-level development and comprehensive industrial chain.
