Shenzhen Metro enhances services to aid students during exam periods
    2024-05-29  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

AS the annual college and high school entrance exams approach, the Shenzhen Metro Group has announced a series of measures to facilitate student travel, including priority security checks, green channels, and care stations, as reported by Shenzhen Economic Daily.

The 2024 National College Entrance Examination is scheduled for June 7 to 9, while the Shenzhen High School Entrance Examination will be held June 26 to 28. Additionally, the junior secondary school examination for Grade 8 students is on June 28. To save students time at security checkpoints, Metro stations will offer priority security check services from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on exam days. Students only need to show security personnel their exam admission tickets to receive priority access.

Furthermore, within 30 minutes of the exam start times, Metro stations will open green channels for students to provide them with quick entry and exit after passing through security.

“The green channels are generally located next to the customer service centers at the stations. Students should pay attention to on-site notices and guidance,” an unidentified Shenzhen Metro staffer was quoted as saying. To further assist students, stations near exam sites will post information guides at key locations such as entrances, transfer corridors, and concourses to help them quickly find their exam locations.

To provide additional support, Shenzhen Metro will set up help stations at stations near exam sites. These stations will offer sets of help stationery, including pens, 2B pencils, and erasers, to help students who may have forgotten their supplies. Additionally, the stations will be equipped with Chinese medicinal oil and other items to help students alleviate symptoms such as motion sickness, anxiety, or chest tightness.

In a special arrangement, Metro Line 3 will observe its regular weekday opening time of 6:30 a.m. June 9, despite it being a Sunday, to ensure smooth travel for students and accommodate exam schedules.

During the exam periods, the Shenzhen Metro Group will implement necessary passenger flow management and operational control measures based on conditions around the exam sites in order to create a safe and convenient travel environment for students. Students are advised to check their essential exam supplies, plan their routes in advance, and schedule their travel times accordingly. For assistance, students can contact station staff at any time.
