Exhibition unveils a vision of unity and innovation
    2024-05-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

WORKS of renowned visual artist Chen Man are being exhibited at Shenzhen Art Museum (Longhua Division) from May 15 to June 15.

This artistic extravaganza promises a fusion of cultural diversity, environmental consciousness, and cutting-edge technology.

Embodying the mantra “Once you come, you’re a Shenzhener,” irrespective of origins, Chen’s exhibition delves into a shared human experience and mutual destiny. By blending traditional Chinese art with modern techniques, her artworks not only stimulate visual senses but also advocate for sustainability and ecological consciousness.

The exhibition, hosted on the third floor of halls 10 and 11 in the museum, showcases Chen’s evolution as an artist, delving into photography, painting, and installation art. Central to her creations are themes exploring femininity, cultural heritage, and the harmony found within diversity.

Chen, a Central Academy of Fine Arts alumna, has garnered global acclaim for her groundbreaking approach to visual storytelling since 2003. Recognized as a “Young Global Leader” and a trailblazer in reshaping perceptions of China, she continues to push artistic boundaries with her distinctive style, blending Eastern and Western influences seamlessly.

Her accolades also include prestigious honors like speaking engagements at the World Economic Forum.

Chen’s works grace the collections of world-renowned institutions like the Victoria and Albert Museum in the U.K. and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, the United States, solidifying her position as a luminary in the art world.

For a sneak peek into Chen’s visionary exhibition “SAME,” viewers can catch a glimpse through the lens of Shenzhen Daily photographer Lin Jianping.

With a promise of innovation, multiculturalism, and a celebration of shared humanity, “SAME” emerges as a testament to art’s transformative power and unifying potential in a rapidly evolving world.(Windy Shao)
