An egret perches on a lotus leaf at Honghu Park in Luohu District yesterday. Summer is the optimal time for visitors to admire blossoming lotuses. The park’s annual lotus exhibition is set to commence this Saturday and will run until July 15. Each year, the park, the largest lotus cultivation base in South China, cultivates hundreds of lotus plants and hosts an exhibition that showcases more than 100 distinct lotus varieties.
