20 suffer from sunstroke in June
    2024-06-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CITIZENS are reminded to take precautions against sunstroke and refrain from outdoor activities during periods of high temperatures. According to the Shenzhen Emergency Medical Center, 20 people in Shenzhen have required emergency assistance for sunstroke since the beginning of June.

In severe cases, the typical symptom includes the body temperature over 40 degrees Celsius. The excessive temperatures pose irreversible damage to the brain, resulting in the death of numerous brain cells.

Sunstroke predominantly affects young individuals exposed to high-temperature environments for prolonged periods. Additionally, those who struggle to regulate their body temperature and those with underlying health conditions are also at risk.
