Students enter an examination site at the northern campus of Lianhua Middle School in Futian District to take the high school entrance exam, or zhongkao, which began yesterday. An estimated 136,000 local students will take the three-day exam. The pass rate for this year’s zhongkao is expected to reach 70%, according to the city’s education authority.
