Buildings in the Futian CBD are illuminated to mark the start of the 500-day countdown to the 15th National Games on Thursday.

The event, set to take place from Nov. 9 to 21, 2025, will be co-hosted by Guangdong Province, Hong Kong, and Macao. This marks the first time for Hong Kong and Macao to host such a prestigious national sporting event.

The National Games’ opening ceremony will be held in Guangzhou while the closing ceremony will be in Shenzhen. Held quadrennially, the National Games typically follow the Olympic year and serve as a vital platform for discovering and showcasing emerging athletic talent.
