







NESTLED in the picturesque setting of Baguang in Dapeng New Area, the over 300-year-old Yanzao Ancient Village stands proudly as a testament to its rich history. Located at the foot of Paiya Mountain on the shores of Daya Bay, this ancient Hakka village takes its name from Shenzhen’s historic salt industry, signifying its deep-rooted connection to the region’s past. Its strategic location offers breathtaking views of a lush wetland park, surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one, with the coastline just a stone’s throw away. Meticulously preserved, the village exudes a charming antiquity that captures the hearts of visitors. Founded centuries ago by Hakka settlers with surnames such as Lan, Zhou, Xie, Wen and Chen, the village thrived on salt-making, land reclamation and agriculture. Today, with over 50 well-preserved Hakka-style houses converted into a Hakka customs museum, Yanzao Ancient Village preserves not only architectural splendor but also cultural heritage.
