DAPENG New Area will provide up to 30 million yuan (US$4.12 million) in support for newly built international or domestic high-end branded hotels, based on their fixed investment amount, according to recently released measures to promote tourism accommodations in the region.

The measures will also help existing hotels and vacation rentals upgrade their facilities to provide exquisite and personalized accommodations. A maximum subsidy of 2 million yuan will be awarded to hotels or idle properties that exceed 50 million yuan in annual revenue for the first time after undergoing upgrades and introducing well-known, high-end hotel brands from home and abroad.

A maximum subsidy of 3 million yuan will be granted to hotels that invest over 50 million yuan in construction and upgrades, based on the proportion of the actual investment. Vacation rentals that invest over 3 million yuan in decorations and upgrades will receive a maximum subsidy of 500,000 yuan.

Dapeng will further promote the standardization, branding, and chain development of vacation rentals. The new area will assist existing vacation rentals in upgrading their quality, providing a subsidy of 50,000 yuan for each upgraded vacation rental. Additionally, businesses such as bars, featured restaurants, boutique coffee shops, and book bars will be eligible for subsidies of up to 200,000 yuan. (Zhao Siyi)
