WHILE the Olympic Games is gathering sports delegations from around the globe, 184 boarding bridges provided by Nanshan District-based China International Marine Containers (Group) Co. Ltd. (CIMC) are facilitating the swift and efficient movement of athletes at the Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport and the Orly Airport in Paris, demonstrating the might of “Nanshan manufacturing” to the world.

This marks CIMC’s another significant contribution to facilitating top-tier international sporting events, having previously supported the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics, the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, and the 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.

According to reports, the two French airports are bracing for a surge of up to 350,000 daily transits during the Games, including athletes, delegation members, Olympic committee specialists, and media personnel.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport, Europe’s second-largest international aviation hub, has 113 CIMC boarding bridges. Similarly, CIMC has supplied over 90% of the boarding bridges at the Orly Airport, France’s second-largest passenger airport, with a total of 71 bridges.

To guarantee the secure functioning of the boarding bridges throughout the Olympics, the resident airport project team of CIMC Tianda, a subsidiary of CIMC, has redoubled their efforts by augmenting manpower, intensifying inspection schedules, and bolstering spare parts inventory. The team is also closely collaborating with airport authorities to enhance response efficiency.

As a recognized “world champion” in boarding bridge manufacturing, CIMC Tianda has exported its expertise globally. It has provided, or will soon deliver, over 10,000 boarding bridges to 419 airports in 89 countries and regions across five continents.

In addition to CIMC, Longhua District-based Shenzhen Aoyodi Electronic Co. Ltd. is also serving as a shining example of Shenzhen manufacturing on the world stage.

Following the successful provision of security equipment for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, the 2012 London Olympics, the 2016 Rio Olympics, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the company has once again been entrusted to supply security solutions for the Paris Olympics.

According to Liao Songping, general manager of Aoyodi, the company’s portable security door designed for the Paris Games is foldable and can fit into a car trunk, allowing for rapid deployment in a mere five minutes.

Equipped with an internal battery and designed for low power consumption, it boasts an impressive operational duration of 30 to 80 hours.
