DRIVERS can reserve parking spaces at parks up to one hour in advance through the “深i公园” WeChat miniprogram. Previously, reservations could be made up to two hours in advance. This change aims to enhance the efficiency of parking lots at local parks. The reservation service, launched last July, currently covers 84 parks and 116 parking lots with nearly 20,000 spaces. Since launching, the service has handled approximately 1.3 million reservations. Shenzhen Bay Park, Lianhua Hill Park, Bijia Hill Park, Central Park, and Qianhai Park are the top five parks in terms of parking reservations. Many have found it significantly easier to reserve spaces at some parks on weekdays compared to weekends. In response, the city’s management center is piloting a flexible management system at Shenzhen Bay Park, Bijia Hill Park, Huanggang Park, the Shenzhen International Garden and Flower Expo Park, and Yangtai Mountain Forest Park. Under this system, drivers without a reservation are allowed to park if there are spaces available. Additionally, an automated waitlist function has been introduced to the reservation system.
