IN the heart of the city lies a fascinating discovery: the Curious Elephant Library, an underground garage-turned cultural oasis. This fresh establishment defies convention, blending modern flair with traditional charm in a symphony of literary wonder. Upon entry, the library’s soothing blue and yellow palette, coupled with its tasteful wooden accents, wrap visitors in a cosy embrace. The space is a far cry from the mundane, with vintage desk lamps in the study, plush sofas in the central area and a treasure trove of collections scattered throughout. Divided into four unique areas — reading, tea, activity and children — the library promises an eclectic experience. More than just a haven for books, the activities area is a vibrant place for engaging book clubs, cultural talks and art exhibitions, fostering a dynamic exchange of ideas. For younger visitors, the children’s area provides a safe haven for exploration and play. In the spirit of founder He Li’s vision, Curious Elephant transcends profit-driven motives, aiming to cultivate a nurturing space for all minds to converge. Through a slew of upcoming cultural events, including stimulating debates, insightful lectures, and soul-nourishing gatherings, the library aims to inspire curiosity and bridge communities in an era dominated by technological advances.
