Robots help solve guide dog shortage
    2024-08-22  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A student from Shanghai Jiao Tong University demonstrates a guide robot for people with visual impairments developed by the university at the 2024 World Robot Conference, which opened in Beijing yesterday. The robot can quickly process speech commands, move at a swift yet stable pace, and autonomously navigate, avoid obstacles, and recognize traffic signals. Official data show that there is only one guide dog available for every 40,000 people with visual impairments in China. China News Service
