SHENZHEN’S railway stations handled 27.9 million passenger trips during the first 50 days of the summer travel season from July 1 through Monday, an increase of 646,700 trips compared to the same period last year.

Shenzhen North Railway Station saw an average of 395,700 daily arrivals and departures, with a total of 19.7 million passenger trips over the 50 days. Meanwhile, Futian Railway Station recorded 1.18 million passenger trips, a 43.13% increase compared to the previous year, according to data released by Shenzhen North Railway Station on Tuesday.

To accommodate the surge in demand, the operator has added over 1,500 trains, including overnight high-speed options, to enhance convenience for holiday travelers.            (Han Ximin)
